What is a virtual machine (or a VM)?
A virtual machine, often mentioned in its abbreviated form – VM, is essentially a virtualized asset. This can be an application of any kind or even an entire OS.
Virtualization turns physical resources into virtual resources, thus allowing the user to use the aforementioned physical resources in a more efficient manner. This is possible by creating “virtual machines”, that are no longer dependent on strict physical resources. VMs are therefore installed on software which perfectly imitates dedicated hardware.
