What is hyperconvergence? – Syneto Vocabulary
Technical words can sound complicated, even for the more experienced IT professionals. At Syneto, we use a “vocabulary” that helps us define our products and services. And we want to share our favourite words with you. One word you will hear often around us is: hyperconvergence.
What is hyperconvergence?
Hyperconvergence is an IT architecture that combines storage, computing and networking elements into a single system. A hyperconverged platform will include a hypervisor for virtualized computing, software-defined storage, and virtualized networking.
Hyperconvergence has appeared as a need to simplify traditional IT infrastructures, which were complex and difficult to manage. Traditional IT infrastructures usually involve high costs, as each element of the infrastructure has to be purchased individually. Recovery times are often high and the solutions do not include any data protection mechanisms. Hyperconvergence offers a consolidated solution, which integrates all of the elements of a traditional infrastructure (storage, computing, networking). This kind of IT solution helps reduce data center complexity, resulting in a solution that is more user-friendly, cost-effective and easy to manage.
A hyperconverged solution can usually be managed by a small IT team or just one It generalist. That is why choosing such a solution can lower a company’s operational costs. Moreover, as the solution is an integrated one, the end-user benefits from ”one-vendor” support – the customer only has one point of contact for all infrastructure issues or questions.
How does Syneto approach hyperconvergence?
Syneto has created a hyperconverged solution designed specifically for the needs of small and medium-sized datacentres. In doing so, Syneto’s goal was to provide all the benefits of hyperconvergence in a solution that meets the specific needs of this type of organizations.
One of the advantages that Syneto’s solutions offer is ease of management, thanks to the “one-click everything” approach. The solution also helps companies achieve increased efficiency, lower costs and complete data protection, thanks to the solution’s built-in Disaster Recovery capabilities. Last but not least, the solution allows for rapid recovery of all company data in just 15 minutes in case of a downtime incident.
