What is a private cloud?
A private cloud is a type of cloud architecture that is dedicated to a single business or organisation. It is sometimes referred to as „internal cloud” or „corporate cloud”. The Syneto HYPERSeries for example, if used on its own, functions as a private cloud.
A company operating a private cloud stores and manages its data on dedicated IT infrastructure. In this case, the management of the infrastructure is the responsibility of the company’s IT department. The infrastructure is usually hosted within the organisation, but it can also be hosted by a third party (infrastructure as a service). No matter where the infrastructure is located, when using this kind of solution, an organisation does not share physical resources with other businesses.
One of the advantages of using a private cloud is that it helps organizations customize their resources to meet specific IT requirements, while ensuring data privacy and protection. This kind of cloud architecture is often used by government agencies, financial institutions, and other organizations that want high control on their infrastructure and data.
