SynetoOS: Recovery Point Hold

How to protect data long-term with SynetoOS
Introduction
In a world where data protection is crucial for a company’s survival, SynetoOS includes an innovative feature in the Security Pack called Recovery Point Hold. This feature allows organizations to retain data for extended periods, ensuring regulatory compliance and facilitating investigations and e-discovery processes.
How it works
Recovery Point Hold is based on Immutable Recovery Points technology. These recovery points, which can be created at regular intervals (even every minute), are protected from manual deletion or retention period expirations, ensuring data integrity.
When Recovery Point Hold is enabled on one or more recovery points, the system marks them as locked. These locked recovery points cannot be deleted, ensuring that the data remains immutable for the entire required retention period.
The benefits
- Regulatory Compliance: With the introduction of increasingly stringent data protection regulations, such as GDPR and NIS2, the ability to retain data has become essential. Recovery Point Hold allows companies to demonstrate compliance and respond quickly to audits.
- Investigations and E-Discovery: In cases of legal necessity, such as internal investigations or lawsuits, Recovery Point Hold facilitates access to historical data. This feature simplifies the process and ensures that companies can adequately respond to legal requests.
Recovery Point Hold is just one of many advanced features of Syneto OS, a hyper-converged data management platform that offers a comprehensive solution for managing virtualized environments, with native data protection and instant recovery functions.
