SynetoOS: Multi-factor Authenticator

The pillar for anti-intrusion strategy
Introduction
MFA has become an essential element in protecting modern IT infrastructures. With the rise in credential theft and data breaches, companies must take increasingly stringent measures to safeguard their information. SynetoOS has integrated MFA as part of the new Security Pack, providing an additional layer of protection for business applications and data.
How it works
Users are required to provide more than one verification method to access a system or application. This approach significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access, as even if an attacker obtains a password, they would still need a second factor to complete the login process.
The authentication factors for SynetoOS MFA are:
- Something you know, like a password or a PIN.
- Something you have, such as a physical device, like a smartphone or a security token, which generates a temporary code.
The benefits
- Reduction of Credential Theft Risk: Even if an attacker obtains a password, they cannot access the system without the second authentication factor.
- Compliance with Regulations: With the introduction of regulations like GDPR and NIS2, MFA is a fundamental requirement for many companies. Implementing it helps ensure that security practices are aligned with industry standards.
- Ease of Implementation: It can be configured to meet the specific needs of the company and is accessible for organizations of all sizes.
